Meet The Attorney

Christopher L. Dalton

I have a varied law practice which focuses primarily on Estate Planning/Administration and Probate matters, Auto Accident Injury matters and Social SecurityDisability/SSI claims and appeals.

In my Estate Planning practice, I work primarily with clients who have achieved success in their career or profession and who are interested in planning ahead for a day when they may no longer be able to take care of their own affairs. These clients also are concerned about what will happen to their property when they pass away. My work in Estate Planning is to listen to my client's concerns, and draft an estate plan that takes them into account, including making sure that their hard-earned assets are passed on to whom they want, when they want, and on their own terms. A parallel goal of estate planning is to preserve as much of my clients estate as possible by planning to reduce exposure to taxes and costly court administration.

In my Auto Accident and Social Security practices, I work primarily with clients who have been injured or hurt, and who often do not know the next steps to take. In my Auto Accident practice, clients usually call wondering about how they are going to pay their hospital or medical bills, and wonder what they are going to do if they cannot return to work because of their injuries. My goal in injury cases is to put my clients minds at ease by taking on the burden of dealing with the insurance companies on behalf of my clients and making sure that they obtain a fair settlement based on their injuries. Similarly, in my Social Security practice, I actively participate in cutting through the government red tape in order to ensure that my clients case is heard and decided at the earliest possible opportunity.

I am a Bangor area native who was raised in Penobscot and Hancock Counties. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Maine at Orono, and my Juris Doctordegree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. I am admitted to practice in all Maine courts. I am also involved in my community, having served on the R.S.U. 26 Board of Directors, and having served on the Veazie Community School Board. I also served as a member of the Bangor Board of Appeals, serving as its secretary and as its vice-chairman. I have also coached softball for and served on the Board of Directors of the Orono-Veazie Little League.
